OPEN CALL: Window Gallery
The Window Gallery provides a flexible exhibition platform capable of
engaging the public and local artistic community. It is a shallow
storefront best suited for small-scale installations or displays. Images
of the space with measurements can be found by clicking here. Candidates are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the Window Gallery when appropriate and to think about how the proposal relates to SPACE's mission before submitting an application.
SPACE is most interested in
proposals that make use of the Window Gallery's highly-visible location
in Portland's downtown arts district. The most successful projects
consider pedestrians' daytime and nighttime experiences of the artwork
and incorporate the depth between the glass and back wall into their
If you are considering applying, please be sure to include:
- A brief description of your exhibition including details of your
material, physical, and spatial requirements as well as any special
equipment or technical needs.
- Relevant artist statements that address how your proposal is
situated in relation to your current pratice, research and interests.
Please also relate how the proposed project relates to SPACE's mission
to support contemporary arts, artist and ideas. The full mission

- CV or resume
- Up to 10 low-resolution jpgs that give a sense of the proposed work
or works you have completed in the past. Images must be accompanied by
the following information: title, dimensions medium, and date produced.
